BEATS, the BEAmline for Tomography at SESAME is an H2020 European project to build a beamline for tomography at the SESAME synchrotron in Jordan. BEATS involves leading research facilities in the Middle East (SESAME and the Cyprus Institute), and European synchrotron radiation facilities ALBA-CELLS (Spain), DESY (Germany), the ESRF (France), Elettra (Italy), INFN (Italy), PSI (Switzerland) and SOLARIS (Poland).
SESAME has announced the first edition of the “BEATS X-ray tomography lectures & training course” to be held at SESAME on June 6-7, 2023.
The lectures, which will take place on 6 June, will be broadcast online and can be followed by a large number of participants.
On 7 June, a hands-on, in-person training session will be held at the beamline in SESAME. This session will be limited to ten participants.
Both the lectures and the hands-on training target prospective users of the BEATS beamline and they provide a theoretical and experimental knowledge base in Synchrotron Radiation X-ray Tomography. Please go to the SESAME website for more information.
If you plan to use the BEATS beamline, you are encouraged to apply to take part in the event. The ten successful applicants selected to participate in the hands-on, in-person training at SESAME will have their travel and lodging costs at SESAME’s Guest House covered.
The deadline for applications is April 30, 2023.
