Most of our offices are closed, however members of the BEATS project team continue to make progress on the design of the tomography beamline at SESAME during the confinement. With members of our team physically located in different countries across Europe and the Middle East, keeping our distances has not been a problem. Perhaps this set up has made for an easier transition. Working from home has now become business as usual. Virtual meetings have become the new order.

The BEATS Steering Committee meeting, held remotely on 14th April with participants in France, Italy, Jordan, Poland, Cyprus, Germany and Spain, confirmed that the project is on track.

During the meeting, the members discussed the progress of the Technical Design Report and advances on the X-ray source and front-ends.

"The steering committee is pleased with the progress of the project, which is still within schedule despite the confinement. We are confident that all milestones will be delivered on time, at least in the immediate future."
